Ascent Trip Report

This is a P1K error range peak that was perfect for the short amount of time available at the end of our day. Rhonda and I had spent more time than expected on Big Butte, so this was our only option in the area as a second target. The gate was open at the junction of the road leading to the peak off Forest Road 43, so I drove the 4Runner all the way around to the NW side of the peak before running into snow. We parked and walked to the end of the road, expecting to start bushwhacking to the top from there. But there was an ATV track leading south to the top of the ridge, and from there we were able to bushwhack the remaining distance east to the top.
