Ascent Trip ReportThe road up is not paved but very well maintained. I easily drove up in a Mercedes.
I parked just before the open gate, with the telescope and research station just beyond. Brief walk up the road then turned right onto the fainter jeep trail (chained across at beginning) all the way up to summit.
I did not see a register or benchmark but did not look long as this was monsoon season and two thunderstorms were already flashing nearby. The summit has many instruments, antennas, an underground tank and sections of ground covered with metal mesh, all of which would make a great lightening rod
