Ascent Trip ReportThis proved to be more of a casual walk through the woods than a peakbagging experience but it was still an enjoyable hike in a beautiful region of the San Bernardino Mountains. On the 'ascent' we followed the Champion Lodgepole Pine Trail to 2N11 and then continued on to 2N11B, a spur road that brought us almost to the summit. Smoke from the Holy Fire in the Santa Ana Mountains hovered over the Inland Empire and obscured the views but the air quality was good in the higher elevations. On the return trip, we did a little cross country exploring and completed the loop by hiking a short distance on the Siberia Creek Trail. A few sprinkles of rain didn't amount to much. |
