Ascent Trip Report

I probably should have just added the note "off on the side on some random rock" and I'd have got there, maybe even by the best route. The best route is probably from the second high point north of the one marked as Garnet Mountain and swinging the correct curve downward through openings in the brush. Otherwise, it is at least 40 feet of tough scrub oak. Not so much, until you try to face it. Getting down to the trail again the way I went worked mostly except the last 20 feet. I knew those were going to be bad as I looked down on it and plotted. Really glad I went downhill through it. From the benchmark, it looks like tending southerly and then east might get some less horrible vegetation to move through. YYMV, though.

Grabbing extra bump south of the mountain is not counted in this.
