|Date:||Wednesday, July 18, 2018|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||Second Mother Mountain|
| Elevation:||6375 ft / 1943 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI led this as a Mazama scramble with 5 members. We used Chad Painter's GPS track and the 100 Peaks Guide route description / photos- no major route finding problems. There is still a lot of snow along the route making for easier travel. Snow started about 250' below the First Mother / Castle saddle and can be followed almost continuously to the lake by staying skier's right. We traversed around the lake on the south side on snow. Several other large snow fields still present up to the base of the gully on Second Mother. Beautiful weather, but the mosquitoes were ferocious.
