Ascent Trip ReportUsed the standard eastern approach. I84 to Rt 9 south, then 2.5 miles to N Old Albany Post Rd. 1:15 up to “Peak C” via the trail most of the way. Took the obvious unmarked bypass on the left as I was nearing “Peak A”, then recrossed the trail and bushwhacked over a couple contending knobs. The bump nearest to the county line had some rusted metal pipes that looked vaguely muffler-related. Great views from B and C. On return, I took the trail to the flat 1,400’ area NE of peak A, and bushwhacked SE down to the trail, picking up a couple obvious old woods roads along the way. This saved quite a bit of time, and I was down in 42 minutes, r/t 1:57 |
