Ascent Trip ReportVery long bushwalk and mud everywhere before that. Lots of blueberries on the way.
There seemed to be a herdpath past the Wallace ponds, but quickly lost. We had to orient, found another path exactly between the lakes, but got lost again. Then just went by feel (tracking) and compass. Went through lots of bushwalk. Major blowdowns toward the summit, my girlfriend had a hard time going through. We didn't expect this to be this way, since all other 46ers had a clear herd path. When everything was looking like we wouldn't make it, we heard voices and we stumbled on two parties that made the summit independently. This was my girlfriend's birthday and it will be very memorable.
I used my GPS watch (garmin fenix) on the way back to trace back so we went much faster.
