Ascent Trip ReportTo reach King Hill, the spot where the iconic final scene of "Paper Moon" was filmed, and quite a prominent bluff with a good view: Take exit 159 off I-70 signed for Hays and drive north about 14 miles on US-183. Turn right (east) onto Saline River Road, go 6.5 miles, and turn left (north) onto Codell Road. You will see King Hill and the curved road of Paper Moon fame in the distance. Drive to top of the hill, park and imagine the scene as it was filmed in 1973. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDj4dfGx-Dg The scene today is different from that in two key ways. There is a large power line that cuts across the road at an angle partway down the hill, plus two trees have grown up on either side of the road just down from the crest.
