Prospect Hill, home to the second highest point of the Island, is owned by the Trustees Menemsha Hills Reservation. There is a pile of rocks on the summit and story has it that one of the previous owners wanted to lay claim to owning the highest point on the Island so he built the pile of rocks to surpass Peaked Hill's natural 311 feet elevation.
