This marl and limestone Hill topped with a Cross, elevation 1915', was an Indian signal point, advancing news of the intrusion of white settlers. A memorial plaque is in front of the Cross "John Christian Durst 1825-1898", a German settler who acquired the land is 1847. Today the Hill is owned by the Community, an Historical Plaque is at the paved trail head.
