This site is part of the National Battlefield and is a prominant part of the ridge defended in the Civil War. It is a named USGS feature on the maps and part of the long trail system of the National Park. Althought it has little prominence because of the adjoing saddle with Little Kennesaw, it is surrounded by nice views in all other directions and has nice rock slabs on the ascent.
