Located in the Zagori Region of Greece. While the prominence of the mountain is not significant it sits above the Vikos Gorge with a drop from the summit to the bottom of the gorge of nearly 2000 meters. Also located on the slopes of Astraka is one of the deepest straight drop sink holes in the world at 405 meters called Provatina.
