This summit lies on private land owned by the Séminaire de Québec and all access if forbidden. This "no-trespassing" rule is strictly enforced.

The key col has a point elevation marking at 966 meters on the 1:20 000 topo maps. The mountain is the most prominent shoulder of mont Raoul-Blanchard (1182m). There is no official trail up to this bare rock summit.

This picture shows Montagne Brûlé from the lower dome about 1.5km south of the summit, along the ridge. It's one of the most, if not the only, rugged-looking peaks of the Laurentians (2009-03-13). Photo by Gabriel Couët.
