Peak 1160 is not a 1000-foot prominence summit, even using optimistic prominence, based on ground observations by a group that visited the vicinity of the key col. Their notes:
We walked from the highway at the mapped 223.9’ BM, where the land obvious climbs steeply to the north and east, on the dirt road that heads south from there until we were above the 240’ contour a short distance from the highway. That dirt road did not drop below 220’. Since that walk covered the key col area from one side to the other, the actual saddle can only be higher or equal to our route. We have every reason to expect that it is higher, although I confess that we did not grid the entire area. Since our goal was to prove that the key col was above 200’, proving that its minimum possible value was above 220’ was sufficient for our purposes.
