The West Peak of Mount Watson, surveyed at 6220 feet, has been shown by local climbers to be about 40 feet higher than the East Peak, despite the 6240-foot contour on the East Peak seen on the USGS map of the mountain. So the West Peak is the highest, main summit of Mount Watson.
