List DescriptionSeven of the eight Connecticut counties have a most prominent peak that is different from the county high point. Only Burley Hill in Tolland County is both the highest and most prominent peak in its county.
It is not certain that North Preston Hill is the most prominent peak in Connecticut. Preston Hill, a little bit south and located in New York State, could be higher, and if that is the case, then Litchfield County's most prominent peak is Ellsworth Hill, and the state prominence point is the Hanging Hills.
