List Description

Italy is divided into 110 provinces, important local governmental units. I researched the high points using a variety of map sources and am reasonably confident of most of the peaks listed here. However, the summits listed for the provinces of the Po Valley lowlands are just estimates based on spot elevations from road maps, and may not be accurate.

Acknowledgments:

Thanks to Graziano Coppa, who helped determine the high points of several new provinces that have been created in the past decade.

Also, a big thank you to Daniele Bizzarri, who provided a large number of corrections for many of these points, based on closely looking at the peaks and their locations on or near provincial boundaries.
