In the summer of 2007 I began hiking seriously. Living in Massachusetts and the close proximity of the mountains make it easy for me to come back for more and more. I have done some hiking in the last 10-15 years but very sporadically. Since joining a few different hiking groups I have made hiking a part of my life. I've accomplished many of my goals, summiting the 48 4000 footers in NH, the 67 4k in NE and am working on the top 100 highest in NE, and the 115 in the Northeast. There are just so many lists and places to go that it excites me.
There is nothing more satisfying than reaching the summit when you are dripping with sweat, your muscles are tight and the views are amazing. I have slowly acquired more and more cool gear to make hiking more enjoyable. After doing some hikes in the winter, I am now ready for the summer again. And now, am thinking of extending my hiking experience to include other parts of the country and the world. I would love to hike the Andes, since that is where my roots are. I am thinking Peru, Chile, and of course Bolivia! Then who knows...
Hiking Groups I belong to: New England Adventurers and Hiking(www.hiking.meetup.com/283), Random Group of Hikers(www.hiking.meetup.com/305), Boston Hiking(www.hiking.meetup.com/170).
I live in Pepperell, MA and I love hiking!
