My name is Cuyler Aleksandr Holmquist. I was born on August 4, 1989 in New York City. I am the oldest son of Lars and Angele Holmquist. I have dual Dutch and American citizenship and speak Swedish, Dutch, and English. I have two brothers, Timo age 18, and Karsten age 14. I also have a sister, Gabriella age 13. My father, Lars, got Timo and I involved in hiking at a young age and about 7 or 8 years ago we decided to do the Adirondack 46ers. We completed the effort in five years and my dad is currently in the process of assisting Karsten and Gabriella in the same effort. In addition to the ADK 46 I have hiked numerous 4,000ft mountains in Georgia and 3,000ft peaks in New York as well as Mt. Alta in California. Also I have summited the highpoints of Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, Delaware, New York, and Massachusetts. This is a start to an effort among the males in my family to complete the 50 high peaks in the United States. My father has climbed the likes of Rainier, Shasta, and Humphreys, and in February of 2009 he will attempt Aconcagua. I hope to climb Kilimanjaro and continue my 50 state quest in the near future. I love hiking! |
