Ascent Trip Report

A most enjoyable hike despite the weather as all 6 of us were well wrapped up and prepared for winter conditions. Misled by a favourable forecast on MWIS (the Met Office was slightly more accurate); in fact the cloud level was 600-700m and almost continuous snow led to a near whiteout on the summit plateau. The windshelter & trig point were only just poking above the snow and took a bit of locating! Without any line features to bear off it would have been impossible without GPS. An excellent first winter epic for the children.
