Ascent Trip Report

The most convenient approach to our route is from Hwy 101 from E of the peak. Take the road (C Line) that starts just N of the Butte Creek Picnic Area. We followed this to 800 feet from which a spur road to the L is sadly gated. Continue on and the road bends N in and out of some drainages. Several short spurs head up to the W in the general direction of the peak. Pick one of these and get as close as you can. We started about 1/3 mile from the peak coming from due E at about 900'.

Open recent clearcut terrain was nice and easy. Then dense mid-life evergreens with prickly undergrowth sucked for the middle portion. Then we hit an unmapped short summit spur road that hooks clockwise around the E edge of the 1200+ contour. Walk nice road to the open summit. Not a fun route.

We don't think that routes from the N are likely to get you any closer due to gates but you might be able to come from the S and connect with the road along the W side of the mtn. It would all depend on gates. Who knows?
