Ascent Trip ReportThis was done in conjunction with Esther. The junction from Esther had a gradual upward and downward slope for around a mile, where it crossed a jeep trail. To the left, skiers were clearly visible on the slopes. Once we reentered to woods, the trail steepened and remained moderately steep up to the point where we passed the road on the right. Some fairly rugged climbing followed by a break from the tree line where we continued on open rock to the summit. The weather station is in poor condition and in need of a good deal of general maintenance and repairs. Snow shoes were worn from Marble Mt. up to and back from the summit of Whiteface. Weather conditions on the summit were heavy cloud cover and winds at around 30 mph. Temps were below zero.
