Ascent Trip ReportThe summit marked by Ballena benchmark is on private property but our friend Kerry Banke has 17 acres in the family close by and let us in through the locked gate. There is a nearby herd of buffalo being maintained on private property also. There was a Witch Creek Fire a couple of years ago that thinned out a large amount of the brush which had accumulated for over a hundred years and allowed us to gain the summit fairly easily.
