Ascent Trip Report

Drove almost to the summit (then climbed it on foot, of course) during our 10-day trip around Iceland. We passed some Icelandic cowboys herding horses on the side road from the main highway. Later I told a young Icelandic lady at the next hostel that we had been to "Borgarvirki". She said "Where?" I said "a hill with a Viking fort on it". She laughed and said something like "Oh, you mean Bor-r-r-gar-r-r-vi-r-r-r-ki".
