Ascent Trip Report

From all accounts, this peak is normally accessed from the Glen Helen Regional Park but we chose to start near the Glen Helen Raceway along Verdemont Ranch Rd. From our park point we followed this road a short distance to the west until reaching a sign indicating the boundary of jail property. At this point we headed off on a series of dirt roads, some of which were flagged and set up for an upcoming motocross race. Once we attained an elevation of about 2,300', the final half mile to the actual summit was fairly level and not particularly interesting. Poor visibility and a rather humid afternoon did not help matters. Several of the nearby flat hilltops are contenders for the actual highpoint.
