Ascent Trip Report

First Creek is rough - lots of brush and some major falls. The approach trail therefore stays out of the creek on the south side. Unfortunately, there are also many climbing trails which go up to the cliffs intermixed with the First Creek trail, so I found keeping on it to be a challenge.

Once in the canyon, there are intermittent cairns. Towards the end of the canyon, the cairns clearly point the trail to the ridgeline. Once at the ridgeline, the trail fades, but the ridge is easy to follow. Eventually it leads to a point that looks to be the summit, but it is only another false summit. Most don't involve a subsequent loss of elevation, but the final one requires about a 50 foot decent down a north-facing slope (the only place I encountered significant snow).
