Ascent Trip ReportThe book: Afoot and Afield in San Diego listed two of the three trails up this mountain. One is W to E, the second is E to W. We took the third, not documented N to S trail. From North County San Diego we drove down the I-805 and exited Telegraph Rd. Followed it East until it changed names to Otay Lakes Rd. Continued until it became two lanes and then came to the Thousand Trails RV campground. Parked in the campground's store parking lot. Trail begins at parking lot. Just under 10 mile round trip. Got to watch human "gravity testers" sky dive over the local airport. Very cool. Boarder Patrol trucks and recreational ATVs were on the trail also, but no problems with either. Only regret is we turned around at the Dog House Junction where the three approaches meet and did not do the short hike to the radio towers.
