Ascent Trip ReportWe were able to drive nearly to the TH. Short walk and then we walked the trail through minimal snow. Once the trail leaves the forest and gets into the basin it would normally be sketchy for avy danger. Not a recommended route. But a very cold and dry spell made it OK at this time. We proceeded up the basin and let the terrain get us towards the ridge. Finally we hit the ridge and ambled slowly to the summit at about our turnaround time. Brrrr it was cold. Great views but sadly my camera had frozen up. We returned out the same way and got back to the cars at dark. It was cold and the snow conditions were not ideal but even still we were pretty pleased to have tucked in a 7000 foot North Cascades peak in during December.
