Ascent Trip ReportSolo - 28 pounds no traction or snowshoes. In from Rocky Branch on rt 16, started at 710. Headed North to Davis Path on Isolation Trail. Jumped a big moose laying down in the thick stuff - barely could see him but I'd say he looked 5' at the shoulder (?) Lots of blowdowns and got off trail too many times. Summated Isolation at 1230, then Davis heading south. Camped on north side of Stairs - 70 paces off trail. Summated Stairs the next morning. I had intended to go back out Rocky Branch back to 16 via the loop but was discouraged by icy stream crossings. Decided to take Davis Path all the way out to 302. Hit Crawford Mt on the way. Hitch hiked back to my truck.
