Ascent Trip ReportAfter backpacking out of Thornton River (1,400 ft up and out), I hopped in my car and headed for Hazeltop to knock out the Greene County High Point, which is just south of Hazeltop's summit. Hiked both Hazeltop and the CoHP from Milam Gap along AT. Go for the CoHP from the Laurel Prong Trail, which intersects the AT just downhill from the summit of Hazeltop. It requires the least amount of bushwhacking. Luckily for me, the end of November requires little bushwhacking anyway, so it wasn't too difficult. Great weather too!
