Ascent Trip Report

I started near the bottom of Jeremy's Run to summit this one. I didn't realize how much elevation I gained until I plugged it into this website. It's gained over a few miles, so it is less noticeable. I made my way up out of Jeremy's Run and on to the Elkwallow Trail heading north parallel to the Appalachian Trail. I then joined the AT not too far south of Hogback and headed for the summit. Unfortunately the summit has a few buildings and some radio crap on it. Pretty disappointing for a summit in a National Park. It has my vote for removal of human trash form the summit. I took a quick pic and then headed back down to some rocks near the AT that had a much nicer view for my lunch. From the AT, I headed down into Thornton River to make my camp for the night.
