Ascent Trip Report

This was a very lucky trip due to rain ending minutes before we set up camp at the ADK LOJ.
As always the locals and staffers were very helpful another reason I keep coming back! A few things to keep in mind, the sign in is a bit of the way into the trail, VERY important you must take the path that dosnt look like much of a path marked old Nye ski path!!! That mistake cost us 45 minutes which equated to an hour and thirty minutes in the dark. Not a big deal if the trail had markers but it dosnt! You have to keep an eye on the trail as well as a look out for carins. You cross water six times coming and going two of which you are going top get wet if you don't have balance. Bring socks. The climb is steady for 60 percent of the trip and then STEEP the rest of the way to the split.Nye 10 minutes from split Street 30 can leave your packs after a big swig.
If you don't look up you will miss the markers. Look up! Its the only other view cept for the small shelf off the right of Street. The only other thing to note is the stretch 30 minutes or so before and after the river. There is no noticable markings so you should pay attention to the terrain, we lost a good twenty minutes in the dark looking for the trail.having great company is essencial, thank God for my pal Johnny.
