Ascent Trip ReportThe 3 main peaks of this area (Monts Owls head, Bear and Sugarloaf), the southwest shore of Lac Memphremagog, can be all easily done in one day. Mont Owls Head has a trail with outstanding open views thruout the climb, the other 2 are bushwacks with no or partial views and not worth the effort, unless of course you are a Peakbagger.
Mont Owls Head is a Ski Resort Center with a condo development on the lake shore, to get to it just follow the "Mont Owls Head Ski Resort" signs as you drive down hwy 245, after leaving Hwy 10 at exit 106. The TH is at the right far-end of the huge parking lot. Walk to the main bottom Chair Lift Station and follow any ski run to the top Station below the actual summit. Walk to the right (West) of the Lower Communication Tower, a very short distance to a set of stairs on the left that lead to the summit (located between 2 green container type buildings). Partially wooded evergreen rocky summit.
The whole climb is open with outstanding views of the area, the grass slope (trail) is moderate to steep, a short 1 1/2 hour RT hike. From here we drove South to Mont Bear.
