Ascent of Las Trampas Peak on 2009-10-10| Others in Party: | June Rosenthal | | Date: | Saturday, October 10, 2009 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Las Trampas Peak | | Location: | USA-California | | Elevation: | 1827 ft / 556 m |
Ascent Trip ReportAn average Bay Area open space walk with a high point as the objective. The peak is non-descript, but has nice views. Part of the route is a trail along the ridge between Walnut Creek and Lafayette and it has pleasant views - reminds me a bit of the views around Ashville, NC.
This trip started from Rossmoor which is a gated community and so a problem to get into unless you know someone who lives there. (Such as me?) Otherwise, there are many other ways to get up Las Trampas.
