Ascent Trip Report

5 day Trip, 2 groups, one left Ottawa Monday morning, the other Left Windsor Sunday Evening. We met at the Montreal river put in late afternoon Monday, got started and camped on a Crown land campsite, Tuesday we moved to a great beach site on Smooth Water Lake. Wednesday we left early with only canoes and day packs so all Portages could be done in a single trip. We were able to do Scarecrow Creek despite hitting several beaver dams so we took the portage route on the way back. Hit the summit at 1506 local time and stayed for about an hour before hiking back down and canoeing back to the beach site, making it back at dusk. Thursday we canoed back to the crown land site, and Friday morning we packed up and headed home.
