Ascent Trip Report

Visited late afternoon after Punta Serpeddi.

Turn E of the SS125 at N39:46:00 E9:36:49 then turn R (S) at N39:45:41 E9:38:02. this road becomes narrow, climbing steeply with many zigzags. Eeventually reaches a cross-roads (N39:44.53 E9:37.58) follow main track R (fairly rough from here - may prefer to park and walk - an additional 2km). I parked at N39:43:05 E9:38:03, elev 634m, room for 1 or 2 cars.

From here a very steep road continues, the steeper sections concreted. Near the top the main road goes R and leads up to a fancy stonebuilt watchpoint. The L fork is rougher and soon ends in a turning area. Above, a short steep path leads up to a copse: keep R through this to reach the highest point, accessible without scrambling if route chosen carefully. Nice summit with a very fine view. Approx 1 hour round trip from trailhead, including detour to watchpoint and another lower summit.

I then drove to La Marmora trailhead ready for Sunday morning's ascent.
