Ascent Trip ReportVisited late afternoon after La Marmora and Monte Senes.
Road leaves SS392 at N40:51:40 E9-07-41, climbing to Valliciola with many zigzags. Above here the road is narrower, finishing at a fenced military telecomms compound. Shorly before the top of the road, a dirt road leads R, finishing at a single comms mast. Park just before the mast (N40:51.023 E9:10.519). A path heads SW between 2 granite tors. The one to the R (W) is the summit. The easiest route climbs 3m to a ledge, follows this R, then climbs a 2m crack (which I climbed using a foot jam, awkward but not very exposed, more awkward to descend). GPSr at summit recorded N40:50.955 E9:10.485, 1352m - rather lower than the mapped elevation.
I drove up in heavy rain and waited while it ceased. The view from the summit was intermittently cloudy with a nice rainbow and views of surrounding slightly lower tors. This whole area is popular for free-climbing although the area around the masts is apparently neglected by climbers (see peakbagger.org)
I then drove south to Monte Rasu which I summited the following morning.
