Ascent Trip Report

We came from the west from south of Eureka. The roads were excellent for a while, becoming much rougher when we turned east up Lewis Creek valley. However, a capable driver should be able to get a passenger car to the trailhead when the conditions are such as we found.

Thanks to Steve Sheriff for his GPS track, which we had downloaded. We chose not to do the longer ridge trail with more gain and loss, but to go the most efficient way, up and down the creek trail.

The attached GPS track shows the location of the trail almost all the way up the mountain, with a couple of slight detours caused by snowfields across the trail. In season (mid-August until first snows?) this should be a trail hike to an exceptional viewpoint. We would strongly recommend it.
