Ascent Trip Report

Climbed during a three week hiking/rafting trip in the Brooks Range along the Hula Hula River.

Day one involved a 5.58mi hike with 3 days of food from a river camp to a small bench overlooking the terminus of the Esetuk Glacier (NE side). The next morning we dropped to cross Esetuk Creek and proceeded East passing the long/narrow glacier on the north flank and then climbing to the larger northern glacier at approx. 6,200ft. We roped here and proceeded south then curved first leftward and right following the obvious route to the flatter stretch at 8,000ft. From there we climbed moderately steep slopes angling left and directly to the summit. We returned to our river camp the following day.

5.58 mi river camp to high camp. 6:45 hrs
12.34 mi round trip high camp/summit/high camp. 16:09hrs
5.4 mi high camp to river camp. 4:14hrs
