Ascent Trip Report

Unguided attempt of summit, turned back twice due to bad weather. First bivyed at ~7500 ft. due to incoming storm (sleet, freezing rain), set up camp with another party, cleared in AM, made Camp Muir then weather turned bad again that nite preventing an attempt. next day scrambled up the Cowlitz Cleaver to about 11,800. Realized time had run out due to flight scheds, so headed down next day.forgot to tie safety line on my sled and the pvc frame broke during a turn on the steepest part of the snowfield. sled hit the only rocks for a 1/4 mi. around, flipped over and left a yard sale. Saw a bolide from my tent on Glacier Vista at 4am next morning. skiing was awesome.
