Ascent of Mont Jacques-Cartier on 2003-08-07| Date: | Thursday, August 7, 2003 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Mont Jacques-Cartier | | Location: | Canada-Québec | | Elevation: | 1267 m / 4160 ft |
Ascent Trip ReportAlthough one of the highest peak in Eastern Canada, the hike was very easy because of the high altitude trailhead. However, the hike was beautiful despite the fog. While we didn't have any views, the rocks provided a very eerie feeling, since you never knew when you would cross a caribou (elk). The trail transforms into "maintained" scramble above tree line.
