Ascent Trip ReportA point to point (north to south) hike, easy to moderate, off of the BRP.
North of Roanoke on the BRP I got dropped off, by Rose, at Mile 83.5 at the Flat Top parking. I ascended the easy/moderate trail 2.9mi to the summit ..... many huge rock outcrop formations. I descended on the south side 1.5mi to the picnic area trail head, off of rte #43 just east of "Peaks of Otter" visitors center at BRP mile 86. Rose was there waiting after making a number of calls to the family. On the descent I met a group of 4 ladies nb.
This hike can be easily done together with the near-by Sharp Top Mountain.
