Ascent Trip ReportDrive up to the middle of a private unaccessible quarry.
This High Point is shown in the PBDB as being in the middle of the private working "Marlin Limestone Quarry" and it is not accessible (I drove partly in the quarry, men and machinery working). The whole top of the mountain has been quarried out and therefore the High Point is no longer here ...... it could be on the north rim or to the east or perhaps not even in this area. I could not get permission to explore the area.
DIRECTIONS TO THE QUARRY
Coming from the South ...... Coatsville/West Chester area, travel North on hwy #322 to Honey Brook (jct 322/10). This is about 11.2mi from I30. Turn right and travel North on #10 for 2mi to Welsh Road on top of a E-W ridge, take another right and drive a short distance to a left on Quarry Road, sign "Marlin Limestone", its .6mi to the Quarry.
Coming from the North ...... center of Morgantown, at stop light with Rite Aid and Exxon On corner, travel South on #10 3.2mi to Welsh Road.
"DO NOT GO WHERE THE PATH MAY LEAD .... GO INSTEAD WHERE THERE IS NO PATH AND LEAVE NO TRAIL."
