Ascent Trip Report

Instead of driving to the summit parking lot, I stopped at the restaurant and hiked the Old Mitchell Trail to the summit. This is a rugged trail with lots of up-and-down over boulders--one place even has a rope in place to help with climbing. I brought one hiking pole and wished I had two.

It's 2.6 miles roundtrip with about 750 feet of climbing. If you start at the state park office, it would be 4 miles roundtrip.
