Ascent of Little Bear Peak on 2009-09-09| Others in Party: | Trisha Conlon | | Date: | Wednesday, September 9, 2009 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Little Bear Peak | | Location: | USA-Colorado | | Elevation: | 14037 ft / 4278 m |
Ascent Trip ReportStandard hourglass route from a camp at Lake Como. Gotta be the toughest two-and-a-half miles anywhere. Beautiful, clear morning and calm weather on the summit, but we got hit with graupel before getting back down through the hourglass. Difficult, dangerous, satisfying. We used the fixed ropes in the hourglass, otherwise it would have taken at least an hour longer. 14er #48 for me, #46 for Trisha.
