Ascent Trip Report

Headed out on the Deep Gap Trail from the Mt. Mitchell State Park parking lot. With the knowledge of a storm approaching, we only made it out to Big Tom before turning back. The peaks hit were Mount Craig and Big Tom. Very well maintained trail with moderate difficulty (large rocks/boulders to climb over). Definitely want to do the whole trail when a storm is not in the forecast. Total trip time and distance was 1 hr, 13 minutes and 2.1 miles.
