Ascent Trip ReportI was up in the San Jacinto Mountains for a 3 day weekend trip with some friends and we decided to do a day hike from the Idyllwild area where we were camped. We ended up doing about a 15 mile hike all over the range, but just didn't think to summit San Jacinto. We didn't know how close we were to the summit as we passed the trail junction on our way down. We were only 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the summit I believe. I found out later and kicked myself in the ass for it. Luckily I came back in March, 2001 and snowshoed up to the summit from the tram.
