Ascent Trip ReportSpent one night at start of trail -- then hiked up into the big valley. We probably should have gone farther than we did -- there was some concern about finding water. We needed to filter all the water we used -- the valley was full of sheep. The next day we hiked over through Gunsight Pass, then up to Anderson Pass. I was the only one out of three of us who made the summit, and I felt bad about not hiking further in the first day. We got back to camp just in time to get in our tents for a rain storm -- then hiked out the next day. If I ever go back I will try hiking straight towards the mountain between the two mountains it always appears between in the photographs, rather than going around to the left of the left mountain. That way was very long and through some rather wet and rough meadows -- I envied the people who had hired horses.
