Ascent Trip Report

Gorgeous hike glad I took the day off! Took north trail from otoole. Easy going 6mi hike, a bit rocky and blood pumping (North Trail), nice leanto toward beginning before turn. The summit was stunning - very large bald rock area, firetower, and beautiful views. Great weather, nice sun. Leaned back, took a nice nap on the hot rocks until i heard snakes rattling in the sun near me which creeped me out. There was a small class of kids underneath the tower, they were all very quiet and reading, which made it wierd and uncomfortable for me snapping pictures and enjoying myself. Saw small cub dash out across the trail about 300ft from TH on return, made me nervous that a sow was nearby. This was the last tower i needed (count wise) for the NYS firetower challenge, but im going to finish up the peakbagger list of all of them anyway.
