Ascent Trip ReportThe northern route is the easiest way up Mount Nebo and the trail is in very good condition. I am very confused as to why the trail does not appear on topographic maps or even Forest Service maps.
One can start this trail at the Nebo Bench parking area, or take the dirt road a half mile further to a parking area at the real trailhead. The trail starts out moderate the first mile or so before a steep climb to the north ridge of North Peak. The trail then is mostly moderate as it works its way around the west side of North Peak to Wolf Pass. From Wolf Pass the trail gets brutal as it climbs to a false summit. From there, it drops down a bit as it follows the north ridge of Mount Nebo for a relatively flat quarter mile before climbing the last 500 feet. This last section is class 2-3.
